Are you looking for an easy and cheap fall craft for kids?! Check out this boho pumpkin craft made only with cardboard and fake flowers!
If you prefer a video tutorial, check out this short video on Instagram! You can easily save it, so you can remember the steps for years to come!
Materials needed
Cardboard
Fake flowers and leaves (Could also try out real leaves you can find outside! 🍁)
Scissors
Exacto knife
Optional: Paint! You can first ask your students to paint the cardboard. I think that’ll be super cute too ☺️
How to make this pumpkin craft
Draw a pumpkin on cardboard
Get any piece of cardboard! I used a Red Lobster biscuit box lol Not only were they delicious but the box came in handy! 😋 I broke up the box and drew a pumpkin on the inside of the cardboard.
Poke holes with an exacto knife
Now poke holes in random places on top of the pumpkin. These holes will be where you will be sticking the flowers! This should be a step for the adults cuz it is more dangerous 😋 I barely trust myself with exacto knives lol
Get some fake flowers
I bought my fake flowers from the Dollar Tree or any dollar store. I loved the combo of white flowers with the fall leaves!
Pull off flower head
Simply tug the flower head and leaves off of the stem! It should come off fairly easily.
Put flowers & leaves in the holes
Now simply poke the flowers and leaves in the holes! You can put them anywhere that you think looks best! They stayed on very well surprisingly! But you can also opt to hot glue the back, if you wish.
Cut off excess cardboard
You will now cut off the excess cardboard. This will make it look cleaner and cuter!
Ta da! You are done!
An optional step would be to paint the cardboard before you add the flowers! I think a nice orange would be cute too 🎃
